WORK PERMIT
Thanks to its expertise in Canadian immigration, AOF Immigration Canada has successfully assisted numerous clients in obtaining work permits and processing applications requiring a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Our team provides personalized support at every stage of the process, helping foreign workers and employers submit complete, compliant applications tailored to their specific circumstances.
Worker Programs
Worker programs allow eligible individuals to come to Canada to work with the support of a Canadian employer and, where applicable, the required authorizations from Canadian authorities.
Employer-Specific Work Permit
When a Canadian employer selects a candidate and provides a qualifying job offer, it may be possible to begin the process of obtaining an employer-specific work permit. This type of permit is generally issued for a period of 1 year and may, in certain circumstances, be renewed while in Canada.
Immigration Process
Once the application is complete and all government requirements have been met, including the submission of supporting documents, biometrics, and a medical examination when required, the application is submitted for processing. If approved, the applicant receives a Port of Entry Letter of Introduction confirming their authorization to work in Canada.
Obtaining Your Work Permit
The Letter of Introduction must be presented to border officials upon arrival in Canada. This letter is not a work permit. The official work permit is issued by Canadian authorities at the port of entry when the individual is admitted to Canada.
Your work permit will specify:
• the type of work you are authorized to perform;
• the employer you are authorized to work for;
• the location where you may work;
• the validity period of the permit.
